The cravings for Italian drops by again and dining at Favola comes pretty fruitful when utilizing the privilege from Starwood 🙂
That carries the meaning of fable in Italian, matched its settings as they brought a rustic Italian setting enabling diners experience the decorative inanimate objects like different Venetian masks adorning the wall as we walk through. We love the environment; comfortable bloody red chairs that fired up the area, with ancient Italian murals that creates the romantic ambiance. We could order their Italian Appetizers (Antipasti) from their Crudo Bar, an area where patrons can get to enjoy their favourite cuppa of caffeine fix & some delicious nibbles.
Favola’s homemade breads with olive oil & balsamic vinegar dips. Besides that there were also guacamole & flavoursome carrot truffle dips.
From the Crudo Bar – Caldi (Hot)
Black Mussels in chili-garlic cream sauce, olive croutons – RM40
Creamy & flavoursome gravy with hints of spiciness & really fresh mussels!
Zuppa di Fungo Calabrese – RM 35
Assorted mushrooms cooked in milk with garlic rustic bread and Swiss cheese
Tasty thick soup, a must try! A huge portion that be shared by 2.
Venetian – RM55
Pizza with lobster, scallops, prawns, calamari and clams
Personally felt that this was an over-priced pizza as it was not bountifully spread with ingredients 🙁
Risotto Nero – RM70
Squid ink risotto, sautéed slipper lobster, broccolini, lemon rind and cherry tomato
Nicely presented with contrast colours. Love this squid ink risotto as the it had bursting flavours.
Risotto con Fegato d’anatra e Funghi – RM95
Wild mushroom, clear beef broth and pan-seared duck liver
Nothing would go wrong with mushrooms and duck liver! Combining texture was just great.
Vongole – RM45
Jumbo clams with garlic flake, olive oil and parsley
Simple yet loaded with seafood essence.
Funghi – RM40
Fettuccine with assorted mushrooms in cream sauce with basil
Passable secondi that was just so-so we thought as they were weighed down with lotsa tomato based flavours that masked the freshness of the ingredients e.g. the fish. If you’re a huge tomato fan, you’ll probably love it.
BBQ Cod Fish – RM90
Olive oil, basil, capers, pecorino and sun-dried tomato dressing
Pollo alla Cacciatore – RM50
Roasted baby chicken with tomatoes, roasted bell pepper, olive and capers
Nothing beats a good cup of coffee to end the session 🙂
Cappuccino – RM18
Verdict: Food was and ambiance was great but personal tastebuds reminded us that Villa Danieli @ Sheraton Imperial still aced it 🙂
