High T42 @ Bistro42, Bangsar Village 2

I love December!
Why? A month of celebrations…
Christmas, weddings, birthdays, birthdays & more birthdays!
Birthdays. It’s good to have close birthday dates as celebrating for each other is a valid excuse reason for self-pampering.
Cheers to the December babies!
Venue for 3 December-ians?

T Forty Two has been in our afternoon tea list for quite sometime and never did we know that they’ve revamped their menu & turned it into a modest setting: Bistro42.
A branched out of T Forty Two which is also owned by the B.I.G group, Bistro42 is one of the bright ideas apart from outlets like Ben’s, Tate, Plan B & so forth that focused more on modern bistro fare.

I love how we were greeted. Friendly staffs that ushered us into the garden space outside the main restaurant, adorned with garden umbrellas and cushions that augmented the outdoor-like atmosphere in a shopping mall. There’s an are with lilac & pink sofas and details that I love, accompanied with a grand piano in the middle which adds the graceful touch overall. The inner dining hall has a different style: intimate ambiance with wood panels, white marble tables and bright yellow chairs to match their bright ideas.

My girlfriend (Vyen) and I prefer the garden space as we love leisure meals/ afternoon tea.
Bistro 42 serves beverages from premium tea blends to cocktails, cakes and other niceties to Black Angus prime rib.
Premium & substantial fares.

To indulge in a decadent afternoon tea, we decided to go for their High T42 afternoon tea set.

High T42
Served from 3-6pm daily
RM59.90 for two to share

*NOTE: Could be shared by 3 pax (which we did 🙂

Accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee
Be smitten with their pretty tea sets of different designs; from traditional English tea cups to oriental tea pots 🙂

With a wide array of premium blend selection, we went for something calming……
Relax – a blend of chamomile & hibiscus with a touch of juniper & lemon balm is perfect for mind calming.

Hot Latte

Had an additional pot to share. Need to quench more thirst as the talking went on non-stop 😛
Gorgeous Geisha – RM9.90 per pot
A delicious blend of green tea & sweet, ripe strawberries

We were like the tea connoisseurs who sat there leisurely enjoying our mid-day break, indulging in a beautifully arranged 3-tier English afternoon tea set with freshly baked savouries and sweets:

Savouries
Cucumber & cream cheese finger sandwiches
Egg-mayo & ranch chicken sandwiches on baby cuboid loaves
House-cured salmon open sandwich with dill mascarpone on danish toast
Mini quiche lorraines
*All these delis/ savouries exceeded our expectations. Right choices of fresh bakes placed on the lower tier.

Sweets
Freshly baked scones with clotted cream & berry preserves
Baby raspberry jam doughnuts, Macarons, Madeleines & Marshmallows
*We still prefer Smokehouse’s scones 🙂

Also choose any one dessert from their display!
We chose Crepe Suzette Cake
Layers of crepe & zesty orange cream served a la mode
Great zesty flavours but lack of layered texture. We find the crepe a little thick. Still has Nadeje’s mille crepe topping our crepe list personally.
