My tiring face after work………

My miserable mood when thought of the traffic jam that I’m gonna get myself into….
All of these just dwindled away when Chris dated me for a happy hour after work. And the best part was, it was a Friday evening. This just augmented the whole uplifted mood.
Oh. The BF misses our UK life so much.
Thinking of re-indulging in some familiar Irish pubs where we used to hang out but failed to go twice due to hot matches of the English football clubs, he decided to dredge up some memories from here; at Malones, located just next to the Apartment, near the outdoors.

Heard that they offer a menu filled with an array of pork free authentic Irish specialties to their very own Chefs’ creation. Most importantly, the bar has a variety of creamy thirst quenching draughts to choose from! We’re ready for some Guinness draughts baby!

Guinness – RM17.90 (during Happy Hour)

Traditional Irish Fish Cake – RM19.90
Fish cakes coated with bread crumbs, golden fried and served with traditional parsley sauce. How would you react when some regular fishcakes that tasted like any other fishcakes, highly priced were placed before you? Oh gosh. The picture in the menu was deceiving loh!

Sausage on Colcannon and Guinness Onion Gravy – RM28.90
Grilled beef & chicken jumbo sausages and steamed veal bratwurst sausage served with onion gravy and colcannon (mashed potatoes with cabbage and spring onion). Veal bratwurst sausage? I thought bratwurst are suppose to be a type of fine German sausage. Correct me if I’m wrong. We were disappointed once again. Guess all of you could judge from the look of it. Looked like those ‘sausages from packs’ eh? Issh!

Verdict:

  • Food was not the main agenda if you plan to visit this Irish restaurant & bar.  Definitely not authentic.
  • A drink or two with friends is alright.
  • Shouting your lungs out exclaiming ‘GOAL!’… this could be your place :)
  • Environment is pub-like enough for some happy hour toss
