It’s about time when we bid the tiger goodbye to usher the bunnies over.
Fun, friends, frolic and most importantly food! That is all new year celebrations is all about. We would be looking forward to more close family affairs, a time of reunion and thanksgiving.

This round, we got ‘ZING-ed’ up and had an early reunion with some fellow floggers at Zing located at the Grand Millennium Hotel. Special thanks to Standard Chartered group, Meena & Tim, we were the lucky bunch to feast on the customized Extravagant 8 menus which is priced at RM888++ per table of 8 pax. Standard Chartered credit card holders could explore the oriental gastronomical journey between 20 January and 17 February 2011 exclusively. FYI, Zing is just one out of the 8 participating restaurants that offers the  Extravagant 8 menus.

Yee Sang with Norwegian Salmon
It’s a ritual to toss this dish as high as you could and exclaim notions like “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”! This portion of yee sang is special in a way I would say as the usual plum sauce by most restaurants was replaced with a combination of plum sauce, apricot and strawberry. A true wonder making it a sweet escape. Plus, an addition of the crispy Salmon Skin made each bite different.IMG_0485

Thick Broth with Sea Treasure
Tasty broth brimmed with fish lips, sea cucumber, scallops, shredded chicken was warm at heart.

Steamed Live Fresh Cod with Soy Sauce
Fresh water fishes that we first encounter.IMG_0517

Poached Marinated Farm Chicken with Chinese Wine
Being a big fan of poached chicken, I can never say no to this. However, I vowed to cut down on my daily meat portion from now onwards. haha. Would it work?IMG_0525

Braised Chinese Cabbage with Sea Moss and Dried Scallops Sauce
A very simple dish it may seemed, but I love this to bits. A perfect combination of my top preferred ingredients: chinese cabbage drenched with dried scallop sauce and topped with sea moss!IMG_0529

Seafood Fried Rice
It was decent I swear but was just too satiated to fill in anymore.IMG_0530

Combination of Chilled Mango Puree with Pan Fried Nian Gao
OK. I lied. I reserved some space for the dessert and I love mango puree max!
The pan fried Nian Gao reminded me of my late grandma who used to prepare this for us.IMG_0539

The CNY tradition is a great way to reconcile; forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone. Why not let Zing remind you the tradition of gathering and reunion?
