The Workshop @ Sri Petaling – Kids Friendly Cafe

Dining out with kids is an eternal conundrum with lots of factors to consider before you finally decide on a place to go. Hip, hole-in-the-wall cafes with little wiggle room between chairs are a no-go. Upscale, quiet restaurants are the perfect blank canvas for noisy toddler destruction. Hot pot, Korean barbecue, Thai mookata? No way, the baby would have lost her patience before you got the meat half-cooked. And is that a crayon on the grill?! LOL. Well, most parents will know 🙂

Good to know that many more kids-friendly restaurants are establishing and this is definitely a great news to parents like us! Keep the child occupied while we drink and eat “properly”.

A recent kids-friendly restaurant that I brought Mini C to is:

The Workshop

Located at Sri Petaling, this establishment is manned by a team of husband and wife. Being parents themselves, they know what delights to offer for the whole family to enjoy.

Finding the café can be a little tricky, you must look for the stairs leading to Bako Korean BBQ and then take the lift to the third floor. The Workshop offers a selection of soups, salads, appetizers and a fusion of Asian-Western mains. They also have kids menu but not too extensive. Their interior is pretty simple as the space is also used for events like kids parties, various workshops in the near future for both adults and kids such as cooking classes, arts and craft and more.

The main attraction here is the mini play gym at a corner of the café which houses some slides, a trampoline, and a ball pit offering the perfect solution for parents with active kids while you get to enjoy your meal. Little ones can play to their heart’s content in a secure area while you dine in peace.

It says that you will need to pay RM12 if you were to let your child enter. But if you’re dining there, then it will be FOC 🙂

Mini C loves slide and ball pit and thus, this is his place to be!

Families with young children will enjoy the mini play gym. For those looking for the perfect venue to throw a children’s party, this might just be the place for you!

Remember to bring socks for the kids (and adults) if you plan to enter the play area or socks can be purchased at RM5 a pair.
