What say you? A perfect match?
“Wine and cheese have gone hand in hand for centuries!” Many would exclaim 🙂
Wine and cheese are two of life’s great culinary pleasures, and finding the perfect match can be a delicious endeavour. However, how would you know which wine should be paired with which type of cheese? And with today’s ever increasing options for both wines and cheese the pairing decisions can be quite tricky as well. *scratch head*
We love wine AND cheese but definitely not an expert when it comes to “pairing it” as with any wine and food pairing, there are a number of considerations, such as texture, acidity, tannin and etc.
At Villa Danieli, we’re able to learn the complementary or contrasting flavours with our different palettes and each of us has almost a different favourite match 🙂

Fret not about not knowing how to pair as we personally thinks that it all depends on our very subjective tatsebuds. And Villa Danieli has exclusively crafted a menu that boasts of fine Italian cheeses paired with delicate wines from renowned wineries in different parts of the world!
Just step into this charming trattoria styled country home for some Italian goodness!

Well we’re sure you wouldn’t want to go for wines on an empty stomach. Do check out some of their authentic & delicious Italian fares like pizzas and pastas on their ala carte menu – which are so worth trying.

Always adore their bread and dips 🙂

Our main agenda of the night 🙂
From left to right:
1. Goat Cheese, paired with Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand, 2012)
2. Fontina Cheese, paired with Mitchelton Blackwood Park Botrytis Riesling (Australia, 2010)
3. Pecorino Cheese, paired with Frescobaldi Remole Chianti Sangiovese (Italy, 2011)
4. Asiago Cheese, paired with Banfi Col di Sasso Toscana Cabernet Sangiovese (Italy, 2010)
5. Bel Paese Cheese, paired with Banfi Bellagio Rosso Sangiovese (Italy, 2012)

I personally love the combination of number 5: Bel Paese Cheese, paired with Banfi Bellagio Rosso Sangiovese (Italy, 2012) because they are both so easily accepted! The Bel Paese cheese has a creamy and light milky aroma while the rosy coloured Banfi Bellagio Rosso Sangiovese tasted sweet and easy to drink.

Chris loves number 3,4 and 5. He has so many favourites. LOL.
For instance, cheese number 3: Pecorino Cheese has a harder but crumbly texture, which he loves.
Perhaps you could try this wine & cheese pairing for yourselves for your own favourite match 🙂

  1. Goat cheese and sav blanc is one of my favourite pairings. I’m not so fond of that super sweet Bellagio though.

  2. I’m still learning from you, as I’m improving myself. I definitely liked reading all that is posted on your website.Keep the stories coming. I enjoyed it!
