The Cajun Kings @ Singapore

We always love to enjoy seafood in a casual, laid back way. Our trip to Singapore last week was quite a fruitful one as we managed to check out a hearty seafood restaurant that caters to the Cajun palette.

A Cajun seafood boil restaurant.
Our usual visit to Singapore are usually surrounded by tall skyscrapers on Marina Bay & posh shopping malls. This visit to the Cajun King brought us out of our ordinary touristy visits as this petite eatery is located in a calm neighbourhood, on one of the shoplots facing the residential areas of Upper Serangoon at Jalan Riang.

Mimicking the authenticity of Creole fashion, one would be able to enjoy their tasty seafood boil with just bare hands! We just enjoy tucking our hands into those mouth watering seafood enriched with different flavours in a fun way! No cutleries will be served here. Just use your hands!
Live seafood highlights include fresh lobsters, crabs, prawns and seasonal variety of other ocean pickings.

Simple surroundings with sturdy wooden tables neatly laid with waxed paper. No cutleries, except plastic disposable aprons and they serve the seafood with a bucket in bags for well marination.
We are going to make a mess!

TCK Combo – SGD65
Red Prawns 500g
Manila Clams 250g or Green Lip Mussels 250g (we had Manila clams)
includes 6 sausages, 1 corn & 1 cajun fries

You could also pick your seasoning between:

  • OG Boil
  • Garlic Butter
  • The King’s Mix

and also choose a comfortable Cajun spice level for King’s Mix to suit your individual taste buds; between mild, medium & spicy.
We picked their recommended The King’s Mix with a medium level of spiciness. Absolutely rich & aromatic with the spiciness that we can take. Finger licking good! So well marinated!

And ordered Green Lip Mussels as ala carte – SGD 8/ 100g
Went for the Garlic Butter marinade as the staffs highly recommends it 🙂 The OG Boil is more for crabs and lobsters. I really love their garlic butter as it brought out its freshness and the bursting flavours are simply irresistible.
