Kin Shui Tei Japanese Restaurant @ Tropicana Golf & Country Resort

Tropicana. Tropicana.
Friends have been whispering around about their other affluent buddies who lived there for fairly a few years, with huge mansions, and drove Porsche.
Shame on me. That’s all I could thought of.
I didn’t have a clue that the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort was buried with some hidden gems. Kin Shui Tei was one of them.

Members or non-members of the Tropicana Golf Club, Kin Shui Tei serve one of the finest & top quality authentic Japanese cuisine to accomodate patrons’ satisfaction. This place is surrounded by acres of flourishing greenery, bringing out a serene dining experience, enjoying spread of sashimis and other Japanese delicacies in a secluded area of the golf club.

During an occasion of a floggers-get-together event held recently, we were greeted courteously by Lynndy and Debbie, the executives from Dessert’s Bar & Nagomi Shabu-Shabu respectively, and not to forget Mr.Tham, the director of Kin Shui Tei who attended to our need helpfully.

It was a lovely evening dinner with the jubilant attendees: AiWei, KampungboyCitygal, Simon, Swee San, Audrey & Danny.

I love to be greeted by the sense of Japanese stylishness of their welcoming exterior.

Ambiance were great, neat seatings and private rooms as well as tatami seats were also well coordinated with matching deco.

Feasting on a banquet of Japanese fares on a get-together night was a bomb. Foodwise, Kin Shui Tei did a great job in pleasing everyone: utter freshness, good food presentation & fine quality imported Japanese sashimis.

Uni Tofu (sea urchin roe and beancurd) – a total rockstar. Clear, tasty broth with silky smooth tofu married with soft and melting sea urchin roe. A necessity.

Onion Salada – sweet raw onion with onsen tamago

Unagi Sashimi set – Perfectly grilled unagi accompanied with sake 鮭(salmon), maguro まぐろ (tuna), Ika いか (Squid) and other sashimis which slipped off my mind ;P

Ten Don – Love the fresh tempura prawns wrapped around with eggs and tangy sauce to go with the rice.

Fried Kaki (fried oyster) – crispy on the outside, soft & fresh oysters which made us screamed Oolala inside

Seafood Teppanyaki set – a definite must order, we all agreed. Yet again, fresh jumping prawns tossed and turned on the teppanyaki grill, coated with the secret recipe sauce containing homemade mayonnaise, it was addictive.

Goma Ice Cream

After the tummy-filling dinner and chew the fat sessions, we were ushered by Lynndy, Debbie and Mr.Tham for some culinary demonstrations by the experience chefs. The first demonstration was done at the Sushi Bar; Chef Ah Wai showing off his skill of maneuvering the knife and later he made Tai sushi.

We were later greeted by the cute Mr.Tanabe, who has established a high profile in Japanese culinary arts for numerous years. He was the head chef of Hotel Equatorial in KL (running Kampachi) and Singapore.

Room for desserts? How could we say no!

Macha Tiramisu (Green Tea Tiramisu) complimentary from Kin Shui Tei. Soft and fluffy
layers of sponge cake soaked in coffee and liqueur with powdered green tea and cream cheese which made me happy. A lil’ bitter caused by the green tea powder but the cream cheese overcome it somehow.

    yeap! it was so fresh!! Know you have a thing for salmon sashimi gal! I'm a big fan of fresh salmon too! Dip that fat juicy piece into the wasabi and Jap soy sauce… heaven! 🙂
