Naughty Nuri’s @ Atria Shopping Gallery

We would still remember vividly on our visit to Bali many years ago. And a visit to Bali without savouring the famous Naughthy Nuri’s ribs are totally incomplete, especially when it was our first visit to Bali. We visited their small shack located in Ubud, licking every bone clean. And we’ve posted about it 7 years ago HERE!: http://bit.ly/2qVOV5x

If you’ve ever looked up must-visit restaurants in Bali, or in Ubud in particular, you’ve probably stumbled upon some sort of saintly words or articles proclaiming the Naughty Nuri’s Warung & Grill to be the best thing that’s ever happened to humanity. Yes, it’s that serious yo! Once only confined to the streets of Ubud, Naughty Nuri’s became so popular with tourists and regulars that they were obligated to open up a location in Seminyak’s neighbouring Batubelig after that.
So glad that they’ve brought this amazing recipe and spiced it up more with a selections of other dishes plus drinks, to Kuala Lumpur about 2 years ago.
And today, even better with improved taste, portion and variety!

Naughty Nuri’s 1995 Signature BBQ Spare Ribs – RM48
Ribs specially marinated with Balinese spices and char grilled with a special sauce till its flavour is enhanced. Their signature ribs are generously marinated in Balinese spices and glazed over charcoal with their famous bbq sauce. They said that they have been perfecting their technique and flavour, leaving our ribs tender and succulent. And indeed this round, we get off-bone ribs!
These sticky babies had me licking my fingers and begging for more. But I’m gonna have to save my tummy space for other items cos there were just too much to try!

BBQ Satay Lilit – RM26
Balinese flavour minced pork skewered using lemongrass sticks to augment the flavours.
Another must-order Balinese inspired bites. Dip ’em into the kicap manis spiced up with chillies for the “Ooo-la-la” effect. Loved it.

Indonesia Style Mee Goreng – RM23
Stir-fry mee goreng with mixed vegetables, onions, chilies, sliced pork belly and Balinese black sauce accompanied with their succulent roast pork on side. Papa C’s favourite, he was pretty impressed with this share compared to our last visit 2 years ago. Generous portion of noodles stir-fried with lotsa “wok hei” and the addition of siew yoke to noodles is always a good idea. Haha!

The Notorious Beef Short Ribs – RM42
Tender braised short ribs in their special rendang sauce served with onion rice and acar-awak.
My favourite dish of the night, the ribs were really tender, juicy and soft. Talk about mega flavours – all the elements of rendang, chllies and acar were all so on point.

Babi Guling ala Naughty Nuri’s – RM165 (half piglet) | RM330 (1 whole piglet)
The most famous Balinese roasted suckling piglet. I was skeptical towards any babi guling as I’ve tried those in Bali and didn’t quite like them – as they were tough instead of really crispy. Oops!
This babi guling of Nuri’s using piglet instead, has crispy skin and tender meat. Remember to order this in advance as they have limited piglets per day.

Lavender Crispy Porky Salad – RM25
Deep fired pulled pork ribs with mixed salad accompanied by cucumbers, pineapple, longan and almond with their homemade lavender fruity dressing. New on their menu, this salad were refreshing and the addition of lavender dressing isn’t weird at all. Appetizing due to its acidity.

Balinese succulent “Pork Wing” – RM21

Deep fried pork “wing” coated with Balinese special sauce.
When having chicken wings are too mainstream…. eat “PORK WING” instead! This part is between the shoulder and the knee of the pork, deep fried and best paired with beer! Or martini too.

Mt. Buleleng Inspired Sizzling Bacon Chocolate Cake – RM23
Homemade chocolate cake stuffed with bacon and almond nuts topped with melted chocolate ganache on the hot plate with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Rich chocolate dessert that I can’t forego even after so much pork. More pork in my dessert! Bring ’em on.

And special thanks to the Naughty Nuri’s staffs for letting me experience a “birthday celebration” their way! Was led to the dance floor and dance with all of them! Was quite fun & it’s rare to see me dance ok! Thank you for watching the video above. Haha.
