Half Baked Cheese Tart: Tokyo Secret & Happy Happy Bread Bakery

Lately, there has been a constantly emerging popularity on fresh baked cheese tarts. Cheese tarts are all the rage now and suddenly, everyone in Asia is scrambling for one!
It is sometimes referred as half-baked because of the cheesy molten center.
In Japan, there are big & seasoned players like Pablo and BAKE who have been in the field for a while now. While there are a lot of competitors joining the game, replicating and adapting similar recipes, this food trend is passing on real fast.
We now have various selections of baked cheese tarts! And of course many would compare the difference of each players like us hehe.

What feed backs we got most of the time?
Its origin hasn’t been beaten down at all.
They are referring to BAKE and Pablo obviously haha.

Riding on the arrival of the famous Pablo Cheese Tart in Malaysia this coming October, several local players have also launched their own renditions.
We’ve tried these 2 so far:

I’ve not tried BAKE so I can’t compare. But we’ve just tasted the Half Baked Cheese Tart from Tokyo Secret, the Japanese Hanjuku Cheese Tart specialist from Hong Kong ❤️
And our mouth was bursting with fragrant cheesy flavours! Definitely worth a try @ RM7.90 per piece.
Good things don’t come cheap eh?

We personally love it and it’s rich & creamy. It’s tart is also bagged with a distinct crunchy texture, allowing the savoury cheese and tart to come together to form a flavour that is uniquely yummy.

We’ve been buying pastries & bread from Happy Happy Bread Bakery Kajang located at its town. They have a few outlets throughout Kajang and we were kinda excited learning that they also hopped onto the cheesy bandwagon. Cos Papa C, being a Kajang boy is somehow proud ‘cos a hype is stirred up at his territory haha.

Tastewise: Cheesy but not as rich as Tokyo Secret. Tart looks and tasted like normal tart pastry as they are not double baked like the other cheese tarts.
Overall, they are still decent and I wouldn’t complain cos I like its molten cheese.
And for that price, why not?

Next, we want to try BAKE!
