Steamboat Promotion & Dim Sums @ Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millenium KL

As we’ve repeatedly mentioned, steamboat/ Hotpot 火锅 has been one of our favourite on the “eat list”.
However, not all steamboat are that good equally and memorable. What’s important for most of us? Good soup base & fresh ingredients. Have to highlight this again. Haha.

There might be some disagreements that rises between different styles of hotpot enthusiasts. Some like to place items into the hotpot at a relaxed, leisurely pace while enjoying the cooking process chit-chattering away, while others prefer to put everything in at once and wait for them to boil. All cooked in one shot. Which you prefer?
For us, steamboat ain’t just about chucking all the meat & vegetables into the hotpot and gobble them down. It’s also about a process of cooking the items accordingly, making the soup base stronger & zesty enough. What about you?

As Lai Ching Yuen stands strong in Grand Millenium hotel, it is one of the most popular Chinese Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, offering delicious Chinese cuisine and most memorably their delicate dim sum which we are about to mention first 🙂

These dim sum are showcased by Chef Thye, in which he is very proud of. Now we know why he’s so proud of his dim sums as they were really delicious. Every dim sum was crafted with dedication and innovation in terms of food presentation, flavours combination, textures and most importantly, using fresh ingredients. And also, the deep fried items were not too oily (this I’m very particular. Haha).

Considering that one will be dining in a hotel’s fine dining setting (confirm it will be comfortable as it’s air conditioned), they only use premium ingredients such as tiger prawns, lobsters, live crabs, wagyu beef, geoducks etc, it would be a great venue for celebrations and gatherings with friend, family and colleagues!

Adding fresh seafood selections in will definitely elevate the sweetness of the soup base even more.

We ended our food-full session of dim sums and hotpot with a cute jar of Gui Ling Go.
Also known as the Tortoise Jelly or Turtle Jelly, it’s a jelly-like Chinese medicine eaten as a dessert. Very refreshing and most importantly, very beneficial to our skin.
