Hua Hin! Why are you so beautiful & colourful?!

Hua Hin. Also known as Thailand’s Royal Beach Resort town, this district is rested on southern Bangkok and has the oldest and most traditional Thai resort combines the attractions of a modern holiday destination with a charm. While most of the other Thai holiday destinations cater mainly to foreign tourists, Hua Hin is a place where Thais spend their holiday. Now, it’s getting more popular with foreign visitors too!

When most people asked us, “Where to?”
“Hua Hin!”, we exclaimed excitedly.
“Where’s that?” bombarded back.
Here’s where! A lovely district closely associated with the Thai royalty & this is where the King lives now 🙂 There is plenty in Hua Hin to entertain the creative minds in you, with local artists eager to display their talents & handicrafts.
Perhaps you could consider making a trip to Hua Hin, to sense this special atmosphere and old world charm.

There’s 2 district very close each other that we visited:
Cha-Am and Hua Hin.
Both are beach destinations located on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Cha Am is a district in Phetchaburi province, while Hua Hin is a district in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, about 2-3 hours drive from Bangkok by car, bus or train

#3 Hua Hin Night Market
This night market is situated right in the town centre between the Petchkasem Road and the railway line.
A place where generally you might expect from a Thai market, with stalls selling various apparels, crafts, art, and cheap, tasty bites. Nothing special you can say, but they have a superb selection of seafood restaurants that line the road that hosting the night market. This draws a lot of attention from visitors that are eager to feast.

A small village that accommodate the two-storey wooden complex of sylish old-fashioned shophouses, reminiscent of those that made up the Thai-Chinese neighbourhoods of Hua Hin. #10 Hua Hin Hills Vineyard
Thailand had vineyard too! Did you know? 🙂
Sitting on the veranda of The Sala Wine Bar & Bistro at Hua Hins Hills Vineyard, one could be forgiven for thinking they were actually somewhere other than Thailand, say Australia’s Barossa Valley?
Visitors are welcome to explore New Latitude Wines at the Sala Wine Bar& Bistro! This is an open -air dining pavilion that was built 5 years ago into the side of a hill. Overlooking superb & serene panoramic views of the vineyard. Wine tasting and pairing with their gourmet dish could be done with a refreshing Colombard, a smoky Shiraz & many more! Definitely not just an average wine-tasting experience.

  1. Such a beautiful place! How to go hua hin from bangkok?

    1. Hi Hwei Fang 🙂
There’s no direct flight to Hua Hin yet, so you will still need to travel from Bangkok either by train, taxis, bus or shared van. We travelled by a shared van which would be relatively cheaper (but have to be pre-booked) via agency to ensure no delayed schedule 🙂
details will be up on blog soon 🙂 About 2.5-3 hours journey drive from Bangkok.

    1. Hi Kelly, sorry for the late reply.
We travelled around Hua Hin via a pre-booked van 🙂
As we travel in a group, it was much worth it.
Here’s the details that we blogged about. You can look under the VAN section 🙂

  10. Did you book with tour guy or free and easy?

    1. Hi Michelle,
We just booked the van & planned our own itinerary. Just tell him where to go and he will advise route too 🙂
So it’s free and easy 🙂

  11. Hi Brought up to share,

I would like to ask which hotel did your stay in at Hua Hin ? Do you still have the pre-booked van contacts ?

    Thanks !

    1. Hi Apple,
We stayed at the Anantara Resort & Spa Hua Hin during our visit 🙂 But would like to say if you’re out most of the time visiting around like us, this hotel would be quite a waste as it’s quite expensive and we didn’t really get to enjoy the facilities there. Haha. If more of staying in for beach & spa, then it would be worth it 🙂

For pre-booked van, we engaged a transport agency named Toey Member, which was pretty reasonable. The 4D3N trip costs about 1500 baht per pax inclusive of petrol & tolls (approximately RM149.4).
      Email: toeymember-7@hotmail.com

Hope these infos help. Enjoy your holiday! 🙂

  12. Hi, chance upon your blog when searching more on Hua Hin. very well written blog and pictures taken are all v nice 🙂
Can I checked with you, can I plan my itinerary as follows:

Driver pick up at BKK (8am)
Visit Swiss Sheep Farm @ Cha-Am (Est 11am)
Lunch at Chom Talay Beach Restaurant (est 100pm)
    Visit Santorini Park (est 3pm)
Continue Journey to Hua Hin (est 5pm)

    Is the itinerary too tight?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    1. Hi Katherine,

      Thanks for your support 🙂
I think your itinerary looks fine to me. But as a personal thought, initially we wanted to visit Swiss Sheep Farm & Santorini Park on the same day but decided to put Santorini on the last day itself when we are on the way back to BKK. Cos we wanted to spend more time strolling and taking pictures at Santorini Park. So it’s better to visit in the morning. Just a personal thought 🙂

  13. Oh I see… 🙂 thanks for your suggestions. 🙂 I will re-plan 🙂
Btw if I plan to visit HUA HIN in late Feb or March 2015, is the weather too hot? or best stick to Nov & Dec period?

    1. Hi Katherine,
late Feb or March is still alright. If April will be hot.
You can double check the weather forecast just in case. Hehe. Well you know, the weather nowadays are pretty unpredictable sometimes 🙂

      1. Thanks so much! 🙂

  14. Hi. What is duration for prebooked day trip van? By time or hour?

    1. Hi Patricia,
They have options of days or hours. Depends on your preferred package. You could email them for further details 🙂

  15. Will do. Tks.

  16. Hi, the prebooked van that u took in hua Hin is it the same van from Bangkok? Or prebooked with other local tour agency? Did the driver have any times restriction on the place you visit ? And the cost you mentioned was 1500 batt/pax is it included transfer from Bangkok to hua Hin ?
    Thanks and regards

    1. Hi Ivy,
Yes it was the same van. No time restriction as the driver just go to places according to our own-planned itinerary. We just have to tell him about the places that we wanted to visit and he will drive us there. We would also advise which route is the best and which should be visit first.
And yes the amount that we paid is inclusive of the transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin.
The same driver drove us from Bangkok to Hua Hin and back too.
