Villa Danieli @ Sheraton Imperial Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Lasagna, risottos, polenta, pizza, pasta, gnocchi, tiramisu……

Don’t you just loves these Italian fix?

Mom and I plotted up another Italian Job.
We tend to end up having Italian dinner when it’s mom’s turn to suggest a dinner place. Be it Prego or Paradiso.

Villa Danieli was the location for the birthday plot and the main casts? My brother and the sweet PM

Upon entering, we were greeted by a beautiful view of the KL Tower. FYI, Villa Danieli is located next to the poolside on the fifth floor of Sheraton Imperial.
The ambiance was romantically designed with a rustic feeling of Italian homes. Stone pillars standing majestically surrounding the colourful mural near the ceiling was very nice to look at while enjoying the spread. Neat bar counters and not to mention the posh seats layout as well. Their firewood pizza oven was enchanting too. Décor of such restaurants feature convey promises of an enjoyable dining and wining experience.

Complimentary Bread with Olive Oil & Vinegar
Fresh homemade bread served in a bean sack was a very cute idea

Zuppa
Crema di funghi al mascarpone – RM30
Wild Mushroom soup with mascarpone cheese. Each spoonful left a very strong aroma of the fungi behind.

Pizza
Quattro Formaggi – RM56
Gorgonzola, brie, parmesan, mozarella cheese and parsley combined perfectly and this definitely won’t disappoint the cheese lovers. Very intense cheesey tang.

Capricciosa – RM42
Basil, mozzarella cheese, beef pepperoni, grilled zucchini, Kalamata olives and chili flakes

DSC_3159

Pasta
Aglio Olio e Peperoncino – RM35
Extra virgin olive oil, chili flakes, bird eye chili, parsley, garlic

Primi Piatti
Fettuccine con carciofi e salmone – RM55
Home made fettuccine with artichokes, fresh salmon and cream

Risotto ai funghi – RM40
Wild mushroom risotto with Parmesan crisp. The Italian rice had my vote. The preparation was very rich yet not too satiating. This was a level above Prego’s.

Secondi Piatti

Pan seared cod with crushed potatoes and eggplant, basil butter sauce – RM68
The cod fish was really fresh and pan fried fragrantly bringing out some burnt flavours that no one can resist.

Herb crusted rack of lamb with cannellini bean stew and porcini mushroom sauce – RM82
Tender meat infused with rich herb flavours was very impressive too.

  2. The wild mushroom risotto had my attention! Looks really good, nice photos! I like the birthday cake, so nice to be decorated with macarons. Was it good?

    1. yea it was! the nuts in the cake boost the whole texture. however, v still prefer the macarons from Nathalie’s 🙂

  3. Is it oil underneath the risotto? Seem like very much O.O

    1. Olive oil 🙂 looks a lot but it’s definitely not satiating at all. Gave the risotto a smoother texture ^^
