Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio @ Solaris Dutamas, KL

While I was thinking about a lavish lunch during the V-Day, the initial plan failed when Chris distracted me with The Proposal.

There goes my attempt number 1 to check out Nathalie’s Gourmet.
Then I made Chris promise me……

I want a lavish lunch at Nathalie’s on our Anniversary!

He said “OK”. So casually.

Here were are, at Nathalie’s Gourmet Kitchen on the second attempt. Yay!
Nonetheless, we have been looking forward to our anniversary lunch so much, having heard of Chef Nathalie Arbefeuille’s amazing cooking skills in whipping out fine French cuisine pleasing every patron’s palate. As you may know, Nathalie’s menu is seasonal: Different dishes every month! So you know when to drop by when you’re ready to splurge and give yourself a little indulgence!

Their sleek menu, modern and warm deco – laid with high tables and chairs to a matching counter and not to forget their open kitchen letting you enjoy and watch the chefs in action.
You could proceed to the other side of the restaurant if you wish to be seated nearby the dessert kitchen.

Complimentary Bread & Butter

Starters
Veal Sweetbreads in Layers of Mushrooms and Puff Pastry, Port Wine Emulsion – RM27

The pastry was warm and crispy. Drenched with port wine emulsion, the flavours blended perfectly. Once cut open, you could enjoy the tasty mushrooms layered within! Beautifully presented.

Main Courses

White Fish and Ginger Blanquette, Crab Raviolis and Green Vegetables – RM56

The white fish was cooked perfectly. Fresh seabass. Soft raviolis with crab meat within to match with was very filling.

Porcini Risotto, Pan-Fried Duck Liver, Mushroom Emulsion – RM58

This was my favourite dish. It would be very satiating if you have this alone. Best to share… The pan-fried duck liver literally melts in your mouth. Very fragrant and creamy texture. Risotto was cleverly cooked and not too moist.

You could notice that it’s a norm in each of Nathalie’s sauces to be foamy!

Desserts
Selection of Small Desserts with Coffee or Tea – RM18
Caraibe Sable, Pistachio Moelluex and your Choice of Macaron
Melt-in-your-mouth pistachio cake

We chose Pistachio & Hazelnut. These little sweethearts can be compared to Paul’s or Laduree’s Macarons that we had in Paris. Hazelnut’s flavour was impressive but Pistachio wasn’t as memorable as Laduree’s as the flavour just didn’t explode in our mouth.
Nathalie’s Macarons however, are the most unforgettable macarons we had in Malaysia so far though 🙂
Additional Macaron: RM4.50 per piece

This gourmet studio is definitely a perfect place for occasions especially.
Like us, we enjoyed our anniversary lunch romantically. Friendly staffs, comfortable ambiance and having great companies with you here augmented the atmosphere while enjoying fine French food.

A revisit?
Sure! If someone buys me lunch again.

Shouting again, “Chris!” *evil grin*
