Pla dib @ The Heritage Village, Seri Kembangan

“Thai fusion or confusion? You decide!”

This popped into our mind ever since we’ve read a review from the Star on pla dib. On the first glance of the pictures, I’ve mistaken it for some new Japanese cuisine around town. What’s more it’s in Seri Kembangan; which is just around the corner for us!

Without much hesitation, we hit the heritage village in search for pla dib.
Pla dib, which means ‘raw fish’ in Thai has a modern interior. Laid down with a mixture of wooden furnitures with red sofas and elements that was not so ‘Thai’ 🙂
A casual ambiance, we wound say, surrounded by a 50-acre lake. You could also opt to enjoy your meal outdoors by the lake.

Starters:
Salt and Pepper Squid – RM 15
Add the extra zest of lemon to give the combination of salt and pepper a kick.

Soft Shell Crab Salad with “Mayobi” dressing – RM15
Mayobi = Mayonnaise and Wasabi! A great combination of dressing that we’ve actually tried at home! We love this salad lots. If only there were more dressing to it, this would be perfect 🙂

Mains:
Black Fried Rice – RM 18
We’ve tried Squid ink spaghetti, squid ink paella but definitely not this.
Squid ink and seafood fried rice with fusion of asian flavours were something special for sure. A must try if you drop by.

Pladib Thai
Add in the raw egg into the pipping hot rice for extra smoothness and the basil leaves to dissipate the spiciness!
Creamy Cappelini Angel Hair with Ebikko – RM 18
A yummy order with al dente angel hair tossed with lotsa ebikko and fresh prawns!

Shaved coconut milk – very fragrant 🙂

Flamed Crispy Mango with Ice cream – RM 8
Oops. I actually tot it tasted like banana before knowing it was mango. ;P

Durian Gelato – RM 8
New in the menu, Chris and I loved this to bits. Like we’re actually eating durian. yum.

You can forget about ordering dishes like ‘Tom Yam Gung, green curry chicken or even pamelo salad’, as their menu mainly emphasize on Japanese and Italian ingredients using Thai spices! Plus, they’re implementing on bringing in some pork dishes too!
Game for some Thai fusion? why wait? 🙂
