A Malaysian delight : Satays

I’m back! I’ve been in quite a hectic and tensed week…. Exams and presentations made the state of my mind gone kinda unbalanced. Kept on forgetting things.. I missed the contact with textual comments on food! Whatever… though there are more to come in the next two weeks, another test, presentation, assignments! Oh.. stop reminding myself! Will not procrastinate my visits for more delicacies referring to my “where to eat next” list. Have to watch my budget also.. *pouts*

Ok. ok. enough.. Let’s not spoil my appetite just yet. *giggle* Some time ago, Chris and I decided to have a satay dinner after swimming for 2 long hours. Have to workout a bit if keep on eating away like this. Haha.. Normally I’ll just have 2 to 3 sticks of satays when it comes to parties or any events organized, where the satays are just “ta-pao-ed” or barbecued. Didn’t think that I’ll have satays for dinner! Whoa.. just satays.. all meat. Have to swim a few more laps to compensate this! When it comes to satays, most people will opt for the well-known Kajang satay of course.

We went to the Hj. Samuri Satay Kajang Restaurant located along Kajang town main street. The Hj. Samuri restaurant has a lot of branches at different places. Seems like they have really expanded their business! This Kajang branch, established in the Bangunan Dato’ Nazir, had actually lay hold the entire building it seems! There was a Indian restaurant next to it if I’m not mistaken and now, they have ‘conquered it all’. What a Satay business! *impressed*

The side dish ~ ketupat fillings (nasi impit) and cucumber, accompanied by the peanut sauce & sambal 🙂

Love the peanut sauce sooo much! Thick!

We ordered 20 sticks of chicken satays and I had 9! Oh gosh.. I can eat. haha. RM 0.60 per stick. The total bill came up to RM16.20 inclusive of 2 sugar cane drinks. Reasonable *yes yes*

Just blends so well with the sauce and sambal… Oh. I feel good! Ate hungrily. 😛

We sat at the newly opened area where it’s air-conditioned! Decorated with some antiques and malay-styled interior, I enjoyed having satays here… Cooling environment and at the same time, we’re tasting the piping hot satays ! SyoK! They offer a variety of food as well besides satays, like fried rice and noodles but still love their specialty!
